Privacy policy
Last updated: 30 October 2026
This policy explains what personal data Price Pylon collects, why, and your rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Price Pylon is an independent website run from Bedfordshire, United Kingdom, and is the data controller for the data described here. You can reach us through our contact page.
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional subject and your message. We use this only to reply to you. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (answering your enquiry).
- Newsletter sign-up: your email address, the fact that you ticked the consent box, the wording you agreed to and the time you signed up. Lawful basis: consent. You can withdraw consent at any time by contacting us, and every email we send will include an unsubscribe link.
- Technical data: our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes IP addresses and request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We do not run advertising trackers or analytics cookies.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link and go to a retailer, that retailer or the affiliate network (for example Awin) may set its own cookies to record that you came from Price Pylon. That happens on their site under their privacy policy, not ours. We receive reports of commissions, not your personal details.
Who we share data with
We do not sell your data. Data is stored with Cloudflare, Inc. (our hosting and database provider), which may process data outside the UK under appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum. When we choose a newsletter provider, we will update this policy before your email address is shared with it.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: up to 12 months after our last reply.
- Newsletter sign-ups: until you unsubscribe, then removed within 30 days (we may keep a suppression record so we do not email you again).
Your rights
You have the right to access, correct or delete your data, to object to or restrict processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Contact us to use these rights. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
